This story is told about a man and his teenage son who lived in a little village in Spain. One night the man and the teenager son had a disagreement that left them both feeling betrayed. The next morning when the father went to Paco's room to awaken him, the teenager, was no where to be found. The boy had run away.
A lump rose to the father's throat, because His son meant more to him than anything. The thought of being separated from his boy was too much for the father. Wanting to make amends and begin again, the father went to the post office in town and tacked up a large sign that read, " Paco, all is forgiven. I love you. Meet me here tomorrow, Papa."
The next day the father went to the post office hoping to be reunited with his son. To his amazement, in addition to his Paco, six other teenage boys by the same name stood there, each answering a call for love, each hoping it was his dad inviting him home.
JESUS' story of the prodigal son is more than just a parable. It is a story lived out in every generation in every culture. In fact, it is every person's story. It is an amazing story of a GOD who waits for our return to HIS open arms.
If you ever leave "home," remember your loving FATHER who waits and longs for your return.
Luke 15:23-24 King James Version (KJV)
23 And bring hither the fatted calf, and kill it; and let us eat, and be merry:24 For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry.
Prayer
Rewind your memory tape to your own rebellion from the FATHER and then replay the scene of falling into HIS arms. Thank GOD for HIS grace, mercy, and the Promise of eternity with HIM!
