• Who are you?
• Where are you going?
• Does this activity, commitment,etc., make you money?
• Does this save you money?
• Does this save you time?
• Does this  improve the quality of your life?

These are some very penetrating, theological and philosophical questions, but we must answer them before we begin tossing things out of our lives.

Before Honour is Humility

Then what is humility?

• It is moral realism, the result of a fresh revelation of GOD!
•  a modest or low view of one's own importance; humbleness.

Developing a long-term relationship with both GOD and others.

• It is the fruit of repentance.
• It is the attitude which rejoices in the success of others.
• It is the freedom from having to be right.
• It is the foundation of unity.
• It is the mark of authenticity.
• It is the fruit of brokenness.
• It is the quality which catches the attention of GOD.

The end result is holiness.  Our only response to GOD'S holiness, and that of HIS SON JESUS, is humility. 

If you are interested in developing a long-term relationship with both GOD and others, make humility your goal.  As we kneel at the foot of our LORD, HE will lift us up.

FATHER GOD, I want to be humble in all that I say and do.  Please make me aware of any false pride in my life.  In  JESUS'S name. Amen.

Point 6:   We need to see the Power of the Gospel for salvation.


This Gospel is a change agent, giving people real purpose and meaning to life. helping us struggle against the power of sin. 

Each of us not only know about this miracle in our own lives, but we also know about the testimonies of those  around us too.


Point 7:   We are to  live  a life of righteousness by Faith.


When studying the Gospel, the righteousness of GOD is revealed to us, so we can go out and live a righteous life by the power of the Holy Spirit.

May today's study help us focus on the eternal values of life and not only the temporal. 

There are a lot of good things to use up our energies and passions on, but are they the best priorities for our time and energy?

One of the Barnes' motto is:   "Say "No" to good things and save our "Yeses" for the best."
Know what's important and act on it.

We are to take a stand for the Gospel

Point 3:  We are to share the Gospel with our whole heart.

With a passion and a zeal we are to share this good news with our friends and acquaintances.



Point 4:   We are to share this food news with everyone.


Paul says he was obligated and eager to preach the Gospel to both the Greeks and non-Greeks to the wise and to the foolish----to the whole spectrum of life.  The message of JESUS can make a difference in anyone's life.


Point 5:   We are to take a stand for the Gospel


Paul very powerfully states, "I am not ashamed of the Gospel."  Oh, do we ever need individuals an d families who can stand together and exhibit a lifestyle that reflects the love of CHRIST.  We need to show the world that we aren't ashamed of this Gospel.

We are all set apart for the Gospel.

Point 1:  We are all set apart for the Gospel.

What an awesome thought that we are set apart!  That makes us some thing special in the sight of GOD.  With this thought, it helps me establish my daily priorities.  It's not sports, politics, or knowledge, etc.


Point 2:  This Gospel was promised beforehand through HIS prophets in the Holy Scriptures

I must realize that this precious Gospel has a historical background that has been documented in the Bible.  It's not something that was just recently thought up by a group of men in a dark backroom.

But the greatest of these is LOVE ........ I Corinthians13:13

 



And now these three remain: Faith, Hope, and Love.  But the greatest of these is Love.

It is important to believe that we have value and that we are worthy to give of ourselves.

This begins by knowing and accepting what our Heavenly Father believes about us.
