Legacy and honors
Awards have been established in her name by the National Association of Black Journalists,[68] the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University,[69] the Coordinating Council for Women in History,[70] the Investigative Fund,[71] the University of Louisville,[72] and the New York County Lawyers' Association,[73] among many others.The Ida B. Wells Memorial Foundation and the Ida B. Wells Museum have also been established to protect, preserve and promote Wells' legacy.[74]
In her hometown of Holly Springs, Mississippi, there is an Ida B. Wells-Barnett Museum in her honor that acts as a cultural center of African-American history.[75]
