Take heed to yourselves: If thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him.

Luke 17:3

King James Version (KJV)

This scripture is certainly about forgiving.  However, it clearly states not to forgive unless your brother or sister repents.  Even though, you are also to pay attention, and rebuke your brother or sister if they sin  against you!  Wow, this is very powerful command.

This command will not only let you have a healthy relationship with yourself, but also with others.  This scripture text causes you to take action in the right direction in life.  When you take this assertive action, it teaches you how to have boundaries and make people respect you!  In return, it puts the other person who was way out of line, back in place and in certain boundaries.

This assertive and corrective action makes the person at fault to be respectful and repent so he or she can be forgiven.   The brother or sister who sins against another brother or sister needs to understand that GOD does not like ugly.

I think it is safe to say that GOD is not too fond of pretty either, especially when pretty starts looking ugly.  I just saying.   You know what I mean?

It is important to realize that the brother or sister who has sinned against another brother or sister should not make this a habit.  Therefore, if the brother or sister at fault or with sinful bad habits doesn't stop this cycle of sowing bad seeds, they will soon reap a bad harvest.

As the saying goes, " What goes around, comes around."  Whatever you put out into the universe,  the good, the bad, and the ugly, will cycle back around to you sooner or later.  Put good out into the universe, and good will come back to you.
