JESUS Is Alive! ----- Day 4 ------ By Greg Asimakoupoulos ---- 2002
People of all ages gathered in a small Baptist church in rural Bangladesh to view a screening of the "JESUS" film. The small building was so crowded that little children had to sit on the floor, while rows of adults stood in the back.
During the crucifixion scene, weeping and gaps of disbelief could be heard as the dark-skinned audience looked on in horror.
As the Bengalis watched, they vicariously sensed the drama of the moment. It was as if they actually could feel the agony of JESUS' pain and the diappointment of the disciples.
In that emotional moment, one young boy near the makeshift screen jumped to his feet and cried out, "Don't be afraid. He gets up again! I saw the movie before."
Whether we say, "HE gets up again," "CHRIST is risen," or "HE'S Alive!", the reality of the resurrection should not be reserved for only one Sunday a year. The message of Easter is the foundation of our Faith every single day of our lives.
Because JESUS defeated death. HE is not bound by space, time, or distance. HE'S alive! JESUS lives forever! Write in block letter across your calendar,
"EVERY DAY IS EASTER!"

Give Thanks With a Grateful Heart --- Day 1 ----- By Greg Asimakoupoulos ---- 2002
Give thanks.
To whom?
The Holy One, GOD Himself.
Why?
Because HE has given JESUS CHRIST, His SON.
GOD gave His SON for what?
To die on a cross and save us from our sins.
Give thanks.
How?
With a grateful heart.
💙💚💛💜💙💚💛💜💙💚💛💜
GOD sent His one and only SON to die a cruel death on a cross. That's how much HE loves us ----rebellious,evil, contentious, and sinful people. We don't deserve such love.
We don't deserve to have someone die for us------ and yet Someone did.
GOD looked down upon His glorious creation, now stained by sin, and HE knew HE would act to bring us back to Himself.
Sin had to be punished, but HE took the punishment upon Himself through HIS SON.
When JESUS shed HIS blood on the cross, HE was paying the punishment for our sins. Now, when we accept HIS sacrifice, we are made right with GOD.
Give thanks, and do so with a grateful heart!

To HIM Who Sits On the Throne ----- 20002 -------- Greg Asimakoupoulos ------Day 77
It was her dad's 50th birthday party. Even though, she wanted to stay up, Patty's mom insisted she go to bed before the company arrived. With the doorbell and all the voices, laughter, and music, the 4 year old could not fall asleep. So when her curiosity could stand it no longer, Patty slipped out of bed and quietly descended the staircase.
To her disappointment, the French doors leading in to the living room were closed. Patty was wise enough to know that it would not be smart to pen the doors and walk in. So stepping up on her tiptoes, she peeked through the keyhole near the door latch. What she saw was unlike any birthday party she'd been to. It was magical!
When it comes to heaven, the writers of the New Testament don't go into specific detail, but they do provide us a keyhole through which we can peek. Far more wonderful than the most elaborate birthday party, heaven promises to be a worship festival that defies words.
The music will be breathtaking. The beauty will be thrilling, The glory of GOD'S presence will leave us straining for words. As the old gospel hymn puts it, "What a day of rejoicing that will be!"
Revelation 5:12 King James Version (KJV)
12 Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing.Meekness and Majesty ---- Day 76 ------ Greg Asimakoupoulos -----2002
Oxymorons are word couplets that negate one another. They are paired opposities like "jumbo shrimp," "now then", "genuine copy", and "recorded live". Some of them can be humorous, such as "Microsoft Works", "military intelligence", of "airplane food".
When it come to describing JESUS, oxymorons are neither funny nor out of the ordinary. We can't seem to come to terms with HIS identity without allowing for descriptions that defy normal categories. HE is the GOD-Man, the Morning Star, the Suffering Messiah, and the Servant King.
In this wonderful hymn by Graham Kendrick about the Incarnation, we are posed with another oxymoron: Meekness and Majesty. In fact, the lyrics of this song are filled with contrasts. When you stop and think about it, ours is an oxymoronic faith. The "simple mystery" of salvation is a portrait of opposites. We die in order to live. We give in order to receive. The first shall be last.
Before doing anything else today, why not watch and pray?
Mark 10:45 King James Version (KJV)
45 For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.Celebrate the mystery of your Faith. As difficult as it might be for you, talk to the LORD without needing to understand how prayer works or why HE allows what HE does.

Day 51 By Greg Asimakoupoulos
There's so such thing as a FREE lunch. That old axiom means that there has to be somebody footing the bill somewhere.
Those who make their way to a soup kitchen or a rescue mission don't have to pay at the door. They are welcome. But someone has contributed to this agency so it could provide for others
the some could be said for heaven's handout. Looking down on HIS fallen creation, GOD saw ua in out need. We could not repair the rift that separated us from our Creator.
Heaven was designed to be our ultimate home, but without some kind of intervention we would be forever homeless.
A Holy GOD who is wholly compassionate designed a rescue mission that would bridge the breach. He would offer us complete forgiveness, residency in heaven, and full inheritance as sons and daughters.
The only way HE could accomplish this was to punish HIS perfect SON by placing on HIM all out guilt, shame, and selfish ambition. Grace would be FREE, but it would come with an unbelievably costly price tag.
No wonder we call it "Amazing Grace". In light of all JESUS did to purchase our salvation, no wonder we claim HIM as the KING of our lives.
Consider the contrasts that distinguish us from our Great GOD. Think about what the Father paid that we might FREELY claim HIS love.

Inventor of the Lasting Shoe Maker Machine ------ Mr Jan Ernst Matzeliger (1852-1889)
Jan Ernst Matzeliger
(September 15, 1852 – August 24, 1889)
Matzeliger was born on a coffee plantation in Dutch Guiana, now Suriname.
His father, Ernst Matzeliger, was a third generation Dutchman of German descent living in the Dutch Guiana capital city of Paramaribo. He owned and operated the Colonial Shipworks that had been in his family for three generations.
His mother was a house slave of African descent; she lived on the plantation of which his father was the owner for a time. At the age of ten, Jan Matzeliger was apprenticed in the Colonial Ship Works in Paramaribo, where he demonstrated a natural aptitude for machinery and mechanics.
He left Dutch Guiana at age 19, and worked as a mechanic on a Dutch East Indies merchant ship for several years before settling in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he first learned the shoe trade.
Jan Ernst Matzeliger (1852-1889) Inventor of the Shoe Lasting Machine
In the early days of shoe making, shoes were made mainly by hand. For proper fit, the customer's feet had to be duplicated in size and form by creating a stone or wooden mold called a "last" from which the shoes were sized and shaped.
Since the greatest difficulty in shoe making was the actual assembly of the soles to the upper shoe, it required great skill to tack and sew the two components together. It was thought that such intricate work could only be done by skilled human hands.
After five years of work, Matzeliger obtained a patent for his invention of an automated shoe laster in 1883. A skilled hand laster could produce 50 pairs in a ten-hour day.
Matzeliger's machine could produce between 150 and 700 pairs of shoes a day, cutting shoe prices across the nation in half.
Matzeliger sacrificed his health working exhausting hours on his invention and not eating over long periods of time. He caught a cold which quickly developed into tuberculosis.
His early death in Lynn, Massachusetts from this disease meant he never saw the full profit of his invention. He died on August 24, 1889, three weeks shy of his 37th birthday.

Jan Ernst Matzeliger: Great Moments in Shoe History (1852–1889)
Invention of the Lasting Machine
Matzeliger set out to find a solution to the problems he discerned in the shoemaking process. He thought there had to be a way to develop an automatic method for lasting shoes. He began coming up with designs for machines that could do the job. After experimenting with several models, he applied for a patent on a "lasting machine."
On March 20, 1883, Matzeliger received patent number 274,207 for his machine. The mechanism held a shoe on a last, pulled the leather down around the heel, set and drove in the nails, and then discharged the completed shoe. It had the capacity to produce 700 pairs of shoes a day—more than 10 times the amount typically produced by human hands.
HONORING JAN ERNST MATZELIGER FROM THE BOTTOM OF OUR SOLES (1852–1889)
Invention of the Start of the Lasting Machine
After settling in the United States, Matzeliger worked for several years to learn English. As a dark-skinned man, his professional options were limited, and he struggled to make a living in Philadelphia. In 1877, Matzeliger moved to Lynn, Massachusetts, to seek work in the town's rapidly growing shoe industry. He found a position as an apprentice in a shoe factory. Matzeliger learned the cordwaining trade, which involved crafting shoes almost entirely by hand.Cordwainers made molds of customers' feet, called "lasts," with wood or stone. The shoes were then sized and shaped according to the molds. The process of shaping and attaching the body of the shoe to its sole was done entirely by hand with "hand lasters." This was considered the most difficult and time-consuming stage of assembly.
Jan Ernst Matzeliger (1852–1889) --- Inventor of the Lasting Shoe Machine
Synopsis
Jan Matzeliger was born in Paramaribo (now Suriname) in 1852. Matzeliger settled in the United States in 1873 and trained as a shoemaker. In 1883, he patented a shoe lasting machine that increased the availability of shoes and decreased the price of footwear. He died of tuberculosis on August 24, 1889.Early Life
Jan Ernst Matzeliger was born on September 15, 1852, in Paramaribo, Suriname—known at the time as Dutch Guiana. Matzeliger's father was a Dutch engineer, and his mother was Surinamese. Showing mechanical aptitude at a young age, Matzeliger began working in machine shops supervised by his father at the age of 10. At 19, he left Suriname to see the world as a sailor on an East Indian merchant ship. In 1873, he settled in Philadelphia.Monday, June 10, 2019

Technical work and inventions
In 1876, Alexander Graham Bell employed Latimer, then a draftsman at Bell's patent law firm, to draft the necessary drawings required to receive a patent for Bell's telephone.
In 1879, he moved to Bridgeport, Connecticut, with his brother William, his mother Rebecca, and his wife Mary. Other family members, his brother George A. Latimer and his wife Jane, and his sister Margaret and her husband Augustus T. Hawley and their children, were already living there. Lewis was hired as assistant manager and draftsman for the U.S. Electric Lighting Company, a company owned by Hiram Maxim, a rival of Thomas A. Edison.
In 1881, Latimer, along with Joseph Nichols, invented a light bulb with a carbon filament, an improvement on Thomas Edison's original paper filament, which would burn out quickly, and sold the patent to the United States Electric Company in 188.
He received a second patent on January 17th 1882 for the "Process of Manufacturing Carbons", an improved method for the production of lightbulb carbon filaments.
